Formula 1 Is The Worst It Has Ever Been According To Bernie Ecclestone

Bernie Ecclestone has come back around the revolving door and criticised his own sport once again. So, whatās he saying this time? According to Ecclestone, F1 is the worst it has ever been at the moment.
He went on to add that he wouldnāt spend his own money to go and watch races, and weāre only a few days into winter testing for the new 2016 seasonā¦

Granted, 2015 wasnāt a great year for F1 and a fair few races were pretty dull, but is it the worst it has ever been? That seems like a bit of an exaggeration. While Mercedes may have dominated, the engines may be quieter, spread of revenue is far from equal and costs have risen considerably, there are still plenty of good points about F1 too.
We did witness some great battles in 2015 and you can hardly fault Mercedes for basically doing a better job than everyone else. Alongside that, the fights in the midfield are always entertaining and thereās loads of young talent on the grid in 2016, such as Max Verstappen, Carlos Sainz Jr, Pascal Wehrlein and Kevin Magnussen.
Regulations have remained stable over the winter but that provides teams with the perfect chance to improve on their 2015 cars and step closer to Mercedes. We could well see a much closer field in 2016, while we have a brand new team - Haas F1 - and some pretty awesome-looking cars (like the W07 and Manor MRT05). Engines are also set to get a boost in volume, which is a welcome change.

Hereās what Ecclestone told the Daily Mail about F1ās current state:
āI think I can say that Iām a bit of an exception in Formula 1 today ā I have a vested interest. I want to do what is best for Formula 1. I donāt need the job. I donāt need the money. Most of the participants are only thinking about whatās good for them in the short term. Long term for most of those people is two or three races. The result is that Formula 1 is the worst it has ever been.
āI wouldnāt spend my money to take my family to watch a race. No way. Whatās the point when you pretty much know ā and the bookmakers know, and theyāre not stupid ā that Lewis Hamilton will probably put the car on pole and more likely than not win the race, and the other Mercedes will be on the podium?ā
So is F1 the worst it has ever been? I disagree with Ecclestone and Iām optimistic things will be much better in 2016. What do you think? Share your opinion in the comments!

He must have saw the finish to the Daytona 500 and decided he needed to say the right thing.
Why donāt they fire this man already ? Heās been the F1 Boss way too long !
He is boss but also owner, he rules it :(
The manās 85. Youād think heād have developed some mortally fatal illness by now
Itās like Jean Marie Baptisteās ghost inside an old, aging, decaying, moss-growing dwarf
He failed to have his team race cleanly back in the 80s and he canāt even run a fair program in this day and ageā¦.heās only made it worse and will probably drive it into the ground if he isnāt given the boot soon.
agree F1 sucks
So⦠When he thinks itās bad⦠Is it actually good again?
So why the hell isnāt he doing anything about it? I hate that someone speaks about something how bad it is, and that he can actually change it to better, but doesnāt do sh#t about it
Unfortunately he only has the power to propose ideas, they have to be okayed by a separate decision making committee which has pretty much shot down all recent ideas
Basically Bernie owns the commercial rights and marketing side of it but the FIA and F1 Commission Group make the technical and sporting rules, so unfortunately he canāt change things just like that, he can only suggest and propose ideas.
If Bernie actually had it his way, weād probably have some good stuff back, like V10s and very loud cars, but weād also get all of his other crap, like more races in the middle of no-where and sprinklers on the track at random times and so on.
Own goal at the highest level.
Reminds me of this: https://youtu.be/-aMqPDNjKOM?t=35s
āWhoās responsible for that? Him!ā
Kinda bad to say this, but the ugly old bast**d is 85. So I doubt heās going to be in power for too much longer.

āI have ruined this sport, and I will continue to ruin it in the futureā, that about sums it up, Bernie?
