This Is Why Runaway Truck Ramps Could Save Your Life
If you ever have the misfortune to experience disastrous brake failure on a fast downhill stretch of road, you better pray that one of these ingenious run-off zones has been installed!
I know this has nothing to do with runaway truck ramps but when I was in Europe on a trip going from Monaco to Rome our tour bus driver said it was law that he stop every 4 hours for a break. Is this law everywhere in Europe? Does it pertain to bus drivers only or also multi-axle trucks?
These were common in Portugal and Spain way back in 80’s and 90’s. Luckily breaks have evolved on trucks and so on trailers, aids like retarder and alike so these are rarely used now.
This is clearly the best lesson to take from the video
My grandfather knew someone that died when his truck went all the way up the ramp and fell off the back.
Once saw a couple having a picnic on a truck ramp. Needless to say, I went back and interrupted it for them. They moved their picnic elsewhere. Yes, I’m fun at parties.
