9 Things You Definitely Shouldn't Do When Supercar Spotting

One scroll through my Instagram account and itās pretty clear Iām a big fan of supercar spotting. Combining two of my favourite things ā London and cars ā makes for one fun way to spend an afternoon. But wherever you are, whichever city you are in, there are some things you should definitely avoid doingā¦
1. Donāt get run over

Chasing after a beautiful McLaren P1 is quite an exciting experience, but itās also fast paced and that means mistakes can happen. Be aware of your surroundings because while it may be all well and good getting epic footage, itās not worth risking getting flattened by trafficā¦
2. Avoid touching the cars

These cars are the pride and joy of the owners, they donāt want random people getting fingerprints all over the windows or people accidentally scraping the paintwork.
3. Head out without doing research

Your life will be a lot easier if you have a search around online for the best supercar spots in your area, the best places to go and if there have been any sightings on the day itself. Instagram is always a good place to go for people uploading pictures. If in London, Knightsbridge and Mayfair are the places to be!
If you are lucky enough to be driving around a city supercar spotting, remember to be safe at the wheel. It may seem obvious but if the automotive masterpiece you are following drives off into the distance, donāt take risks trying to follow it!
5. Get in peopleās way

This can mean a few things. Definitely donāt get in the way of the supercars as they are driving around, try to avoid walking in front of traffic and also try not to barge past people and disrupt their journeys on the pavements while chasing supercars. Just be respectful.
6. Stay out of other peopleās footage

The window for getting a good picture or video could be just a handful of seconds. So you can imagine it is pretty frustrating when someone walks in front of you or the car, ruining it for everyone else.
7. Donāt go in the winter

If you are trying to find a good time to spot cars in London, or most big cities around the world, try to go in the summer months. This is when the best and most exotic cars will be out on the streets, particularly in the case of London where many rich supercar owners from the Middle East bring their rides over to avoid the scorching heat of their home countries. Donāt go in the winter, or you will just be disappointedā¦
8. Get your facts right

Saying ānice Ferrari broā as a Lamborghini Aventador drives past wonāt go down well with anyone.
9. Share the wealth

If you know the locations of some really nice cars and some other supercar spotters ask what youāve seen so far, share the spots. Help them out. Weāre all friends here. We all want the same things. Be nice!

Honestly, I would say half the guide here is common sense, while Point 3 us what I would consider to be irrelevant (You donāt own the road, and you canāt chase people away, so deal with it) I would have this in my guide
Maaaan you just ruined it for me. I was just about to head out and sitt on other peoples cars and runaway whilst theyāre chasing me whilst screaming āitās just a prank bro!ā And get run over!
XD
Avoid invasion of private property, i took the risk with a hosp parking, i was lucky that the guard was understanding, he allowed me to take pictures but not closer
(This applies for general car spotting as well) If you see a car worthy of sharing parked on the side with a passenger or driver inside, donāt sneak up and take a picture. Respect their privacy.
I live in Chelsea myself so Iām in prime super car spotting territory.
From what Iāve seen on the youtube most supercar spotters deserve to be run over. Running around in the road, getting in the way of the car so they can get more footage. Grow up and go to places like goodwood festival of speed.
Donāt snap license/identification plates. Lol
I shouldnāt drive safe?
Nice ferrari bro
Must be the Lamborgini La Ferrari GT4
Do research? Whenever I go to London I just wonder around. Thatās where you find cool stuff. Itās lame to just hangout in Knightsbridge the whole time. Wander around and you get to find other random cars, and other cool things.
