Gutierrez managed just six laps in total during Friday practice, after a gearbox issue in morning and the brake fire in the second session. It may have been a tough day for Haas, but the 2016 season has been going well so far. Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton were quickest in FP1, with Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel fastest in FP2.
