Porsche Officially Unveils The Sexy New LMP1 919 Hybrid

Having won the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Porsche has now pulled the covers off the third generation of its stunning 919 Hybrid LMP1 beast.
The car has gone through extensive development over the winter, with Porsche saying the powertrain is more efficient, aerodynamics have improved and weight has decreased.

The German manufacturer has also created three aero configurations, with a high-downforce package running at the start of the year, a low downforce setup for Le Mans, and a new high-downforce configuration debuting after the iconic 24-hour race.

Meanwhile after the victories in 2015, the car numbers have moved to the No.1 for Brendon Hartley, Timo Bernhard and Mark Webber, and No.2 for the sister car of Neel Jani, Romain Dumas and Marc Lieb.
The 919 Hybrid will debut for the first time - featuring the swanky new livery also revealed today - at this week’s test at Paul Ricard in France.

Meanwhile on Tuesday Audi showed off the brand new, striking colour scheme of its 919 Hybrid rival, the R18 e-tron quattro.
